Each carved wooden wallhanging starts out as a solid 
piece of cabinet grade plywood.  After the design is 
drawn by hand the details are added.  Using a variety of tools, I cut the wood and hand sand the entire piece. 

It is then painted using oil paints mixed with wood stain.  Doing this I create my own colors and colored stains
that will not hide the natural grain of the wood. 
This process is ended with several coats of finish.

Each free-standing piece consists of several
layers of wood laminated together giving 
a stacked look and offering several 
different shades of wood in each piece. 

The bases of  the smaller pieces are all 
natural wood making each piece unique. 

My wood working started as an occasional weekend"therapy", which had 
me spending a few hours in my workshop every day to unwind and relieve 
the stress of  the day.  But this "therapy" quickly turned into passion. 

My love of water, especially fishing, the outdoors and sea life inspire my 
wood creations.  The wall hangings will majestically enhance any wall and
the herons will bring an outdoor flare into your home.

Each piece is hand carved and one-of-a-kind.
